Exploring the Gorge!!!

Beacon Rock State Park........

So this summer I tried to spend one day a week enjoying the beauties the Great NW has to offer....these are a couple of shots from the quick but very steep and scary for those of us with a slight height sensitivity climb of Beacon Rock State Park in Washington ;-)

Fairly certain that Ern was the biggest trooper of them all and had no problem leaning over the edge and giving the cliffs a sniff much to my extreme horror!!!

By the time we made it to the top the view was worth it and the hike was high on my recommendation list of a local day-cation for you and your furry friend....

..Trial run.....

After much deliberation I am trying out a new camera, a Nikon d300s...it has many more bells and whistles than I have ever utilized but so far(3 hours in my possession) I have taken over 200 photos..here's some of the usual suspects that I would deem decent ;-)

The start of the bug wall.......

bbzzz..I took this and a couple other "insects in their daily lives" for a friend to make a bug wall for her new baby

Catching this little beetle was a great coincidence!

I fear I did not do the size of this beetle justice...it was HUGE

...best camouflage job..

..actually I think this hiding job takes the cake....off to search for more!

....James and Ern in the garden...

On a dreary day like the last couple we've been having in the Pacific Northwest, a little reminder that the sun does come out I decided necessary. Here is James and Ern hanging out in the backyard, when the sun's out this is their favorite past time...

til the next sunny day...

Hello 2010!!!!!!!

Every New Year it seems there is a pressure for resolutions and correcting bad habits, I like to think about New Beginnings; and, I find nothing more symbolic of that than the miraculous butterfly. I was lucky to come upon these guys while celebrating the holidays in San Antonio,Texas along the newest portion of the timeless River Walk. Happy New Year to y'all! Cheers to New Beginnings! :-)
